Serious Packing

I read somewhere online about a woman who packed for her kids by putting a complete outfit for each child in a ziplock bag and marking it with their name and date to be worn. Since I am going to Hawaii in a few days, I thought I would try it. Packing for 3 kids under 5 for 7 days felt like a daunting task. At first, I wondered what I had gotten myself into. I was surrounded by a thousand little ziplock bags and piles of clothes… But when it was all said and done, this is what I was left with!

A wonderfully organized, easy to look through suitcase! To keep the system going, all you do is put the dirty clothes back into the ziplock at the end of the day. No more rummaging through a thousand articles of clothing trying to figure out what to wear. Hooray! Hawaii, here I come…

I’m Thankful For… The Late Edition

Ok, Ok, I know I’m a few days behind! But for good reason. So here are a few more things I’m thankful for.

Day 22 – Second chances!

Day 23 – The internet. I’m trying to pack for a trip to Hawaii in 4 days (HOORAY! :) ) and it has become quite the challenge. 3 kids under 5 on an airplane for over 6 hours?? Thanks to the internet, I can simply Google “Travel Plane Children” and be directed to a plethora of different sites with tricks and tips I never would have thought of myself.

Day 24 – Friends and Family that have more experience than me! So here’s where you come in… anyone have some great tips for me regarding travel with kids? I need tips for the plane or even tips for packing. I’m up for anything. Help!

I’m Thankful For… Day 21

I’m thankful for great entertainment! I went to see Twilight last night and I didn’t even have to wait until midnight! My friend Audrey rented out a theater for an 8:00 PM show!

Some of you know that I wasn’t too impressed with the books (don’t hate me) but I just didn’t catch the fever like some of the others I know… But after seeing the movie – I think I have! I LOVED the movie. Robert Pattinson did an awesome job as Edward. And I thought Kristen Stewart was the perfect Bella. Even if you weren’t a fan of the books – go see this movie! My husband with me and even he liked it :)

I’m Thankful For… Day 20

I’m thankful for online/electronic banking. It hasn’t been long since I remember watching my Mom slowly going through her bank statement with a pile of receipts, a check register and a calculator. Now I can purchase something, log into my account from my BlackBerry and see the debit immediately! Amazing.

I’m Thankful For… Day 19

I’m thankful for beautiful days like today! Cool air, warm sun and a bright blue sky!

I’m Thankful For… Day 18

I’m thankful for Shout. Otherwise, all of my shirts would have permanent stains on my left shoulder…. Baby throw-up is the greatest accessory! :)

I’m Thankful For… Day 17

Monday Night Football. It gives me 3 whole hours to sit with my husband on the couch! :)

I’m Thankful For… Day 16

Great friends! I had so much fun last night.

Dreams Come True…

Who would have thought I would be able to fulfill a dream 18 years in the making? Let’s start from the beginning – On September 1, 1990, I missed the New Kids On The Block concert in Provo, UT. I was only 8, but I was devastated. I thought I had missed my chance to meet Joey and get married….hee hee. I was crazy about NKOTB. I had the bedroom set, the posters, the Ken doll versions of the boys, the clothes, the VHS biography tape, the books the magazines, you name it. Just look at my excitement over some NKOTB flip flops!

A few days ago, my Dad called me to tell me he had free tickets to the reunion show. But not just any tickets. Six free 14th row floor seats! (Thank you, thank you, thank you Dad!) I immediately screamed and haven’t stopped since.

Last night was so much fun! Here we are waiting outside to get in!

Lady Gaga was the first opening act. Lady Gaga = Lady Coo-Coo. I like her song Just Dance but she was pretty out there. She kept showing some pretty weird pictures of herself on the screen. I admire her for being able to perform on a stage in that outfit though! Yikes!

Natasha Bedingfield was the second opening act. She was incredible! I liked her before last night, but I like her even more after seeing her live.

When NKOTB finally came out, it was so loud! The entire arena was screaming. Including me. My throat hurts. :)

Check out this view:

They sang all of the hits – Please Don’t Go Girl, Step-By-Step, Hangin’ Tough, Cover Girl, Tonight, Games, The Right Stuff, Baby I Believe In You…the list goes on and on! And of course, I had to sing along with every word of every song. I hope I still have friends today… :) I was surprised by how long of a set they did. They were on stage for over 2 hours!

Here we are enjoying a little Step By Step. You know you want to dance too.

They also did a few of the new hits – Single, Click click click, Summertime, Grown Man, 2 In The Morning and a few others! Jordan also did his solo single Give It To You and Joe did his solo single Stay The Same.

After the show, we topped off the night with dessert at Chili’s. Thanks girls for such a fun time!

I came home to a sparkling clean house. Marc did all of the dishes and the laundry…folded and put away. I have the best husband in the world!! How did I get so lucky???

I’m Thankful For… Day 14

A life that is “too busy”. Life would be too boring without the busy, right??
