The Pritikin Diet/I Should Totally Write A Diet Book

I’ve heard about the new diet rage – The Pritikin Diet. Of course, there is a book to go along with it – The Pritikin Edge: 10 Essential Ingredients for a Long and Delicious Life. I found a little excerpt online about the 10 essential ingredients. They include eating fruits, vegetables and whole grains; avoiding fast-food restaurants and high-calorie beverages; portion control; not smoking; and eliminating stress. This is groundbreaking! Who knew that eating healthy foods and avoiding fatty foods could be so good for you?? (Yes, this is sarcasm) I’m totally writing a diet book. The Cammi Conspiracy: 10 Ways Diet Books Are Tricking You Into Spending Your Money On Them.

We all know the basics. It’s the doing it part that’s hard…. I know I need motivation to keep me going. So c’mon – share with me! Who is on a New Year diet? Are you having success? What are you doing?

Oh cammi, as always you never fail to put a smile on my face. Dieting seems to be the story of my life these days. I’m doing just low calories (1500-1800) but mostly just being aware of what i’m eating makes a big difference. I also think that writing down what you eat whether you diet or not, helps too!

  2. I was on this awesome no sugar diet before the holidays and I lost 5 lbs. I crave chocolate twenty four seven and I’ve heard from friends that after a month of not indulging in sugar, your body no longer needs it anymore. It worked, and then when sweets were offered, I wasn’t really interested in them.
I love your post about those stupid diet books, who buys those anyways???

I did the same thing Jo Lynn did.. I stopped eating sugar completely a few months before our Hawaii trip. The first month was tough and I lived off of sugar free pudding every night. Eventually, I came to the point where I didn’t want sugar anymore and I stopped needing the sugar free jello. The hard part is getting past the first few months. I was able to loose around 15 pounds in 4 months just from cutting out sugar and working out 2-3 times a week. I used to work out but not change my eating habits. It was such a struggle to loose any weight that way and It was so hard to stay motivated to workout. Once I was eating right and notice the change by just eating better the workouts were more motivating because I was showing progress.. ok this is getting long haha but I like to share. Anyway!!

I hate dieting but for me it is not just eating good and calorie counting. I also have to work my BUTT off working out too. I love you though and think you look great! Whatever you decide to do good luck and if you need motivation I will try and help, well unless we go to a movie then I am no good. I have to get popcorn and a drink EVERY TIME!!!
