Thoughts About Stalls

Yesterday I noticed I always go into the same stall in a public restroom. Always. Why? I don’t know. After I started thinking about it, I felt like I was in the Battle of Wits from The Princess Bride. (What a great movie!)

Enter Cammi’s Brain -
“If everyone else thinks the first stall is most clean, they will go into the first stall and I should clearly go into the second. However, a clever woman would think of this and go into the second stall rather than the first, so I should clearly go into the last stall. But if the most clever suspected that I would also assume they would go into the last, I clearly can’t choose the last stall and must go into the first! ….”

After curiously Googling “Most Popular Bathroom Stall”, I came across a few articles that I wish I hadn’t… I also came across this little gem – How To Turn A Public Bathroom Stall Into Your Own Private Bathroom Stall. Sorry, Author Of This Crazy Article, but you can’t be serious! Can you?? Here are a few snippets from the article:

“Some bathrooms are going to be more conducive to setup your own private stall. For example, don’t try this at a bathroom in a biker bar.”

“Stop possible interruptions. First lock the door. Next you want to put up a printed sign that the stall is in use. This might seem a little out of the ordinary and may not always be practical. However, putting up a sign will keep others from knocking or trying to enter. Be warned that you may be mocked for this, or it may even cause others to purposefully bother you. So use the sign at your own discretion.”
