Musical Monday – Leona Lewis

I’m sure you already know about Leona Lewis, but if you don’t – check her out! She has an incredible voice and she’s even better in live performances I’ve seen on TV. This is one concert I would love to go to.

Flashback Friday

This isn’t really my flashback. This flashback belongs to my brother-in-law Eric’s wife, Paige. Paige probably doesn’t know this, but I think of her every time I buy milk.  Why? Because of this lovely post she made last year.

Time Flies When You’re Drinking Milk

During these years of motherhood, when so many days seem to be the same, I have found myself reminded of time passing by the dates on the gallons of milk I buy. As I heft the gallons out of the slider rows I see the printed date and realize that time is indeed flying by.

Yesterday’s milk cartons had December 14th stamped on them which puts it in perspective, even though we do have our tree already, that Christmas is just around the corner.

Milk cartons often remind me of upcoming birthdays, including my own. I know it’s coming but when you see your date, or one close to it, stamped on the carton, that makes it real.

I have lots more to blog about, pictures to post — taken with our new camera — but that will have to do for tonight. Milk anyone?

Isn’t that great?

Aloha Friday #2

Kailani at An Island Life does Aloha Friday and here is what she has to say:

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

My question to you is:

How many gallons of milk do you buy a week?

I buy 3-4 gallons a week, which is pretty impressive considering our family is pretty small! I’m hoping that I’m just making an investiment for strong teeth and healthy bones. That means no dentist and hospital bills, right??

Leave a comment with your answer, then head on over to An Island Life for more Aloha Friday!

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

You may notice I changed my blog colors to pink. Why? Because October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month! Please take the time to click on The Breast Cancer Site’s button on my right sidebar. You can give by clicking twice (once on The Breast Cancer Site’s button here and once on the link you will see on The Breast Cancer Site) for free. 100% of the sponsor money goes to charity. Make a goal to do it once a day for the entire month of October. It will only take you 2 seconds. Do it!

Fringe

Fringe is the new JJ Abrams show on ABC and I’m hooked. I was a hardcore ALIAS fan though, so I knew I would like Fringe too. Has anyone been watching it??  I need someone to share speculations with….

Want my recaplet of Episode 1? (Yes, recaplet. It’s the small version of what a recap should be.) Check it out HERE. I’m working on the recaplets of episodes 2-4 and should have them up soon. You can also catch up by watching the full episodes on Fox.com.

Dents and Dings

Unfortunately, cars get dinged. I hate it when I come out of a store and find a scratch or dent in my car and… no note. (Thanks a lot! I hope you feel guilty whoever you are…) At least there is a new site called Collision Repair Experts. They’ve made it easy to find a body shop in your area. Members of their network must meet strict requirements including a written lifetime warranty, having a customer satisfaction follow up system and a minimum 95% customer satisfaction rating. Check them out and read their customer testimonials before you take your car in for repairs. Or if you are really happy with a body shop you’ve used, share the love and submit their name to Collision Repair Experts. They’ll make sure they qualify and add them to the database.
