Last night Marc and I went to BYU’s Homecoming Spectacular. I’ve been the last few years and I have to say this show was my favorite so far! The theme for night was Go The Distance and honored Rex E Lee, BYU’s former President. I didn’t know anything about Mr. Lee before the show, but I learned he was an incredible man.
LaVell Edwards was the Emcee. He was hilarious…with incredibly dry humor. I’m surprised that I didn’t cry once during this show because I always get so emotional during good performances. I just love performing arts. I would go to a show every night if I could. The BYU groups were all great. The Young Ambassadors, Synthesis, Dancer’s Company, Cougarettes, Living Legends and the Men’s Chorus all performed. Maybe it was just me but you almost want to jump out of your chair and dance with them or sing along!
The special guest of the night was Jenny Oaks Baker. She was incredible! Click on her website. The music player on her site plays Suite from Far and Away. She played it last night and it was amazing. Thanks Ed and Lynne for a great night out!
Sidenote: Never order hot chocolate at Wendy’s. They’ll hand you a cup of hot water and a packet of mix!!
