Stephanie Meyer….Blah

I know I’m taking a big risk (risk of death by stake through the heart…) by writing this post. And it’s a risk I’m willing to take. So bring on the comments!!

Stephanie Meyer was on Ellen today and she really rubbed me the wrong way. She came out acting like she had never picked up a pen and paper before, suddenly had a dream and ta dum! Twilight + 4 books were born.

Ellen: “But had you written before, ever?”

Stephanie: “No, no.”

Ellen: “Never?”

Stephanie: Nervously giggles

C’mon Stephanie. You must have written something before Twilight. You have a Bachelor’s Degree in English from BYU. The bio on your own Official Site says so. This was taken from the BYU English Majors Requirement page:

4. Because upper-division English courses require substantial writing, it is strongly recommended that students complete their Advanced Written and Oral Communications requirement as they begin their first upper-division courses, preferably in the second semester of their sophomore year.

Substantial writing. Hmm. I know you really meant to say “Other than the course work I did in college along with the other projects I’ve worked on that I didn’t have luck getting published before I became famous, I haven’t ever written.” Right? I don’t know…something about the entire interview just bugged me. Blah. Did anyone else see it? What did you think?

I didn’t see the interview and I know little about her as a person so I can’t say anything about her, but I certainly didn’t like the conclusion to her Twilight series.

Now, The Host, that was a good book. Still pretty amateur writing, but much better story and more interesting characters than Twilight IMO.

Cammi! I saw her on Ellen too and I was thinking the same thing! I haven’t read any of her books and have felt a small inclining to actually read them but after The Ellen Show I really have no desire to read any of her books any time soon. I’m not dissing her so I hope this isn’t sounding bad but yeah… Blah is a good word for it Cammi ;) BTW LOVE your new site! I’ve been trying to do something like this but just can’t wrap my head around the codes etc.. haha I bought a book on Web Designs. I think I need to just take a week off of work and do nothing but create… maybe it will click and I can actually figure it all out.

Hey, I saw her on Ellen too and thought the same thing. I knew she had studied at the Y and gotten her degree, so it definitely bugged me.

Am i allowed to siplmy point out such a relief to find someone who really is aware of just what they are really referring to on the web. You actually learn how to provide a concern to light and earn that essential. The best way to must read this and understand this part of the history. My partner and i can’t consider youre not more popular because you certainly contain the surprise.

Leave Me A Comment. I like them.
