Incredibly Graceful

I’m sure that’s how everyone I know would first describe me…incredibly graceful. Ha!

We went ice skating last night for Family Home Evening. Lila was too scared to let go of the wall for the first lap (which took us 20 minutes…). Right as we finally made it around, she let go and THUMP. She was done for the night. Here she is being sad with Daddy.

But could I be content with leaving?? Nope, I wanted my monies worth. I had to make a fool of myself by being an ice skater wearing hockey skates. I was just trying to make Lila feel better… I’m sure I was entertaining to those around me as well.

Musical Monday – Alicia Keys Ft Adam Levine

I will be seeing Alicia live on Thursday – hooray! I love that she collaborated with Adam Levine on this song. 2 of my fave artists together.

It has begun…

Bubba has started “The Scoot”. Time to break out the stair gate.

Where Everybody Knows Your Name

I love going to my credit union. There is one really nice drive-thru teller who recognizes my truck and always remembers my name. The first few times I thought maybe he was just reading it off of the checks I was depositing, but I went to deposit some cash a few days ago and he still called me by name! Such a shock.

(Cue the Cheers theme)

Sometimes you want to go
Where everybody knows your name,
And they’re always glad you came….

Flashback Friday – So Many Photo Booths, So Little Time

Step 1 – Realization

Hi, I’m Cammi and I’m addicted to keeping things. Not anything specific, just things in general. I came to this realization today while cleaning out my makeup drawer. There is a dumb lip gloss I have been hanging on to forever. I won’t tell you how long out of sheer embarrassment. I don’t even like the lip gloss. It’s too sticky and it’s not a great color. But I haven’t been able to bring myself to throw it away. Why? For dumb reasons such as:

1: What if I run out of my regular lip gloss and need to use it as a backup?
2: I’ve hardly used it and it seems like a waste to throw away a full tube of lip gloss.
3: Maybe one day I’ll try using it and decide I love it!

Dumb, dumb, dumb. Today the lid came loose and it spilled all over the inside of my makeup drawer. So I took everything out of the drawer and started scrubbing. Water couldn’t wash it away. Soap didn’t even make a dent – it was too sticky. I tried Dawn thinking it would cut through the “grease”. Nope, still a sticky mess. I had to use 409 on it to clean it up. Lots of 409…. And a makeup company thought I would want this on my face??? HELLO?! The lip gloss finally went in the garbage. And then I noticed something terrible. My bathroom was full of items just like the lip gloss. Lotion I would never use because I hated the smell. 10 year old eyeshadow I didn’t like the color of. 1 earring missing its match. A blowdryer that only blew cold air. (What if one day it started blowing hot air again??) Bubble bath that dried my skin, but I wouldn’t throw it away “just in case”. “Just in case” of what?? So I did it. I threw it all out. And it was a painful experience. I went back and forth taking things out of the garbage and then forcing myself to throw them away again. But I’ll survive. In the end my cabinets (and husband) will thank me for it. Now if I could just let go of all my size 2 clothing still hanging in the closet….

Steamers Are A Girls Best Friend

Diamonds? Nah. They just look pretty. But steamers… I wish I could wear one on my finger so I could have it all the time! Meet my new best friend, Sharky.

He makes the inside of my microwave look like this:

How long did it take? 1 minute and 12 seconds. That’s right! All I had to do – spray the inside with the steamer and wipe it out with a rag. And I sprayed it twice for good measure. There are so many other tricks Sharky can do too – windows, showers, tubs, tile… Sparkling clean house, here I come!! One word of caution: If you have small children in the house, be careful! There isn’t a safety switch on the trigger and I can see an accident happening very easily.

Welcome Back Hubby

Marc went to Seattle this weekend for the BYU game…even though he left on Thursday and didn’t return until today! Hmmm ;) But he had a blast hanging with his brothers and friends. It looks like they had a great boys weekend. Thank you Paige for taking care of all those grown men in your house!! I’m sure glad I didn’t have to go to the Air Museum (twice)! I’m also glad to have Marc back. I can finally quit sleeping with the bat next to the bed.

Boo was especially happy to receive a Minnie Mouse doll upon Marc’s arrival!

I realize Marc isn’t in any of these pictures. Jocelyn, Rhianna, or Paige – any of you have pictures from your husband with my husband in them????
